Burning Rage of a Dying Planet - Premiere
Project: 1-2-3 Hail TV
FRIDAY EVENING December 23, 2005
8:00 pm, (Reality, 60 minutes)
Burning Rage follows the exploits of a small cell of self-described revolutionary anarchist “activists” (or are they simply criminals or terrorists?) as they travel the world and engage in various acts of “direct action.” The show will give the audience a unique view into the life and actions of the “affinity group,” with each episode depicting a different “project” undertaken by its members.
The program centers around celebrity photojournalist Greig Dorado, missing since October when unknown assailants, according to police, broke into his Miami Beach condo and kidnapped him, blowing up his BMW in the process. Each week the network receives a package with a videotape containing footage of Dorado being interviewed, “re-educated” by his captors, and brought along on “projects.” The program consists of this footage along with analysis by law enforcement and other experts.
Premiere: This unique series begins with several clips of Greig Dorado’s original abduction late at night on October 27, 2005. Special Agent Smythe of FBI Criminal Forensics comments on the obvious expertise in demolition and lockpicking that the team members display. Professor Rorsch, our philosophy commentator, provides a brief historical context to the political ideas mentioned by the kidnappers during their initial encounter with Dorado in his bedroom. The episode concludes with the dramatic and pyrotechnic exit of the kidnappers, the bound and gagged Dorado in tow.
