8-10pm City Hall Live!: A Very Special Thanksgiving (Reality, Live Action, 2 hours)

This week on City Hall Live!, the regular Pleasant Valley City Council meeting is cancelled, but 1-2-3 Hail TV instead covers the annual Council pre-Thanksgiving party, in which Council members cook a feast for City staff. Budgetary constraints have of course limited the festivities, but the Council vows to make the best of things. Gene Smitty presides over the turkey, using a beer glaze that briefly proves of some concern to City Attorney Amanda Weiss given the City’s strict policy against consumption of alcoholic beverages in City offices (per Administrative Instruction 2002-24b), until Smitty can convince her that no significant amount of alcohol will remain post-roasting. Rookie Councilmember Allie Lowe convinces her fellow politician-chefs to add a tofu main dish to the mix this year, but finds herself banished to the kids’ table when the dish proves more popular than veteran Smitty’s turkey.

   I hope Lowe doesn’t hold a grudge. Word around the water cooler is that she’s the one that got all the cops tasers.
