Just when you thought an elimination-based reality series on county zoning laws might have run out of steam, the producers hand the reins over to guest director Quentin Tarantino. Don’t expect bullets and samurai swords though: this time QT pays homage to television auteurs Rod Serling and Patrick MacGoohan, with a surreal obstacle challenge and staged crime that leaves both teams questioning what is reality and what is television. This episode makes the absurdity of recently redrawn urban growth lines in the county seem like stick figure simplicity.
