Fictionsuit Updates

Maybe I should let people use the site

You can now create your own Fictionsuit projects. Log in and you’ll see the link on the front page.

No private ones for now, sorry. Email me (for best results, try misuba at a system called gmail!) if you want other users to be added as admins.

Also email me if you find bugs. Thanks!

Throwing a lightswitch rave

Web sites are never as dead as they look. Aren’t you here, after all?

You know, why didn’t I put a list of recently created pages on the front page to begin with? I guess because the charter specified that we hide our light under crafty bushels. Now I’m thinking it’s not time for that. Because we’ve got security through obscurity, baby; when the world isn’t watching it’s your playground, and one Google don’t stop no show. Let’s set fire to some hay while the dark shines… or something.

So, there are some recently created pages. Have a look. And no promises, but some functionality may soon follow.

Now it's crawling out of the gutter

Not dead. Totally not. Thriving, in fact; moved to Portland, where Ruby coders get special prizes and ribbons in the mail. However, various all-my-stuff-being-in-fucking-storage factors are making my life a little crazy and the previously scheduled return to work on Fictionsuit has been delayed by a week or two.

Please do not cancel my 123HTV shows. I am like totally the DM and it’s my copy of the Players Handbook.

You need a time-out, mister!

So we had some downtime over the weekend. Things seem back to normal now, and the bug in updating user descriptions also seems nailed (knock wood). We’re exploring a couple of options to reduce server badness in the future.

It's like a jungle, sometimes it makes me wonder

Fixed some bugs. You should be able to change your password from your user info page now.

Other fixes involve private projects – on which subject, if you think you could use one of those, let me know. Contact info’s on my user page.

This website is probably not work-related

First, I want to thank everybody for making 1-2-3 Hail TV television’s hottest network! Then, I want to be allowed to leave my office before 9.

Fictionsuit development will hopefully resume soon. In the meantime we will all just have to gorge ourselves on reruns of City Hall Live.

Given enough minds all worlds are deep

Thanks, and I really mean thanks, to everyone who’s produced a show on 1-2-3 Hail TV. I am trying to think of ways to keep the cabinet growing as well, but my attentions are as divided as yours.

I could open another project at essentially any time, but then we’re split three ways. We need more minds. A recruitment program will begin soon. Keep an eye out.

Do click around, it's 1-2-3 Hail TV

The cable guy has been and gone, and you’re wired into the network that gives you more. What will you give in return? 1-2-3 Hail TV is now broadcasting… but program your calendar as well as your TiVo, or you might end up cancelled. See the project rules for more details.

Ooohh who ah you, I really wanna know

User pages are, to our knowledge, fixed. Thanks for your patience. But what I want to know like Edison Carter is, what would you like to see them do? Do you want your completed assignments to show? (There was some pooch-screwage on those last week, by the way – the records of some completions got wiped. Sorry for that, won’t happen again.) Do you want to play different characters in different projects – or more than one? (We have dreamed some dreams along these lines.)

Your dreams of more projects to do will definitely be realized this week, as we’ve also resolved some back-end admin bugs. We know those tasty, addictive assignment listings look a little repetitive right now – it’ll all be better soon.

Up with production-as-consumption! Stay tuned for more programming…

One theater of memory, hold the trimmings

You’re encouraged to put something in The Display Case, even though it’s really designed to make use of a major new feature we will hopefully drop in this weekend.

I’m aware that user pages are erroring. Will fix when I can. [Update: fixed.]

Textilized!

You may now use Textile codes pretty much anywhere in Fictionsuit where one can enter text.

Be advised, though, that the “HTML allowed” advisory will still apply once you’re done. However, feel free to leave any Textile codes for other tags in your text, in case we enable those tags later.

I am still working on the Floor’s RSS feed troubles. Thanks for your patience.
